The group of Suburbs lying South East of the City Bowl and Table Mountain, in Cape Town are collectively known as the 'Southern Suburbs', these include: '

Mtubatuba, which means: ‘He who was pummelled out!' and named after a chief of the Mkwanazi Tribe, originating from the Zulu's. The name is said to mean: "creator of opportunities", in Zulu. It is a small town north of Richards Bay and close to the entrance of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park.

The Swartberg Mountain Pass is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the highest rated Mountain Pass in Africa! The Swartberg Pass is for many South Africans, the 'Rubicon', of Gravel Road Passes. There is an allure and a mystique around this old Pass, coupled with its status as a National Monument, which elevates this pass to the very top of the list. It was Thomas Bain's final and best piece of road building.

The Witberg Wind Farm is located between Touws River and Laingsburg in Western Cape. Witberg Wind Farm is a 108MW onshore wind power project. When completed, will represent a significant step forward for this region of South Africa. This Farm will reduce power cuts and address the Country's severe energy shortage problem!

Mozambique has received global acclaim for setting aside the Maputo National Park as the Country’s second World Heritage Site, further strengthening its commitment to conserving a large area of its Southern Coastline for future generations.

In February 1975 a group of NICRO Social Workerswere having their morning tea break in their offices in Harrington Street. One of the Social Workers was married to a doctor. This doctor the previous night was working in Casualty at Groote Schuur Hospital.

One of them is a low-level bridge crossing the Crocodile River that serves as the entrance to the Kruger National Park's-'Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp', (for further details about this camp refer to the Link in FURTHER READING). It's a popular spot for game viewing and is known to flood during the rainy season. (as show in the other picture).

Theresa Solomon was born in District Six, Cape Town, Western Cape, in 1945.  Solomon lived in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, where she worked as a community activist from the 1970s to the 1990s before being elected Cape Town’s first black woman mayor from 1996 to 1998, after serving as deputy mayor the previous year.
