The Town of Nigel began as a gold Mining Town in the late 1800's. It was named after a book the Prospector, (which is a person who searches for mineral deposits)-Sir Walter Scott, happened to be reading at the time. This books name was: 'The Fortunes of Nigel'.

Sodwana Bay National Park offers Africa's Southern most, Coral Reefs and outstanding Climate. Sodwana Bay is one of the World's premier sport diving destinations. This South African Nature Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal features various popular dive sites with a great diversity of underwater seascapes, marine flora and fauna, corals, beautiful overhangs, drop-offs and mushroom rocks.

Hellenic Football Club, is a South African Association Football Club based these days, in Cape Town. They are nicknamed: "The Greek Gods". Established in 1958 by Greek South Africans. Hellenic competed in the lower amateur leagues, of Cape Town. But by the 1970's they were one of the leading teams in the Country and regularly pulled in crowds of more than 20,000.

The history of Umhlanga Rocks is really interesting. Umhlanga Rocks was initially home to San hunter-gatherers and was later occupied by Nguni-speaking people who were united under King Shaka in the early 1800's into the proud Zulu nation.

In August 1960, Dugmore Boetie fled South Africa and entered Bechuanaland (present day Botswana) on foot. He was part of a flow of “discontented young men” that included the otherwise unfamiliar Johannes Moeng, Jacob Lesabeer, Spencer Tlhole, and Victor Vuysine Vinjike, observed by colonial intelligence agents.

Background

Mokopane is also known as Potgietersrus. This is a Town in the Limpopo Province, of South Africa. The Town was established in 1852 by the Voortrekkers who named it: 'Potgietersrus', after their leader Piet Potgieter. In 2003 the name was changed to Mokopane in honour of the local chief Makapan.
