On 23 September 1984 the apartheid regime banned the funeral of the late Joseph Sithole. Nonetheless, activists in the community decided to continue with funeral. As a result more than 500 people, were arrested at Evaton Cemetery, Sebokeng. On Tuesday, 23 September 2014, this event will be commemorated at a rally at Saul Tsotetsi, Sebokeng at 16:00 to recall the day.
