Additional Date: December 13, 1982
Security Police arrested the leader, Eugene Terreblanche (Terre'Blanche), and eight other members of the right-wing group the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB), after uncovering illegal arms caches in different parts of the country. The caches were linked to the AWB after its leader had been accused of orchestrating a series of attacks against the government, aiming to create an Afrikaner Republic within South Africa.
