Report of the Head Office of the National Union of South African Students to the Annual Congress of the National Union, University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, 2-7 Dec 1984. Discusses the activities in broad terms in respect of the mobilisation of the student community and in political involvement, in particular the Union's role in the United Democratic Front and the End Conscription Campaign. There are reports on national gatherings in 1984 and the activities of the various Directives. Other student groups such as the Azanian Students Organisation, the Congress of South African Students and the right wing National Students Federation are discussed. Concern about the crisis in Black education is expressed.
