Name employed in the 18th Century for the Coastal Area on the peninsula between Danger Point and Gansbaai. Dutch for 'Ambrose corner', the name is thought to refer to St. Ambrose, who was the Bishop of Milan and developed the use of music in church services and restored its ancient melodies as the Ambrosian Chant!
