Born 1945, Groutville. In 1967 she attended the Teachers’ Training Course, Adam’s College, Amanzimtoti; in 1969 she took the Special course in Arts and Crafts at the Ndaleni Art School, Richmond, KZN; in 1985 and 1986 she studied a BA(FA) course at the UN (P) and at Fort Hare, Alice.
She has taught art at various schools, including Appelsbosch College of Education and Ogwini Comprehensive High School.
In 1989 she was appointed Education Officer at the Durban Art Gallery, a position which she still holds.
In her capacity as Education Officer, Durban Art Gallery, she has curated a number of exhibitions ; she has exhibited her sculpture and prints on numerous exhibitions held in SA and abroad. Her work is represented in public collections in SA as well as in private collections in this country and abroad.
