Dumisani Andrew Phillip Phungula

He was born in 1960 at KwaMashu, Durban. He passed his matric in 1978 at Isibonelo High School in KwaMashu. He is a graphic artist who studied at Fort Hare University and obtained a BA(FA) (1982) from that university. In 1989 he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Adult Education from the UN and in 1996 participated in an Advanced Business Development Programme through the Business Studies Unit, Technikon Natal. Between 1983 and 1986 he taught at Mzuvele High School.
From 1989 to 1993 he was Regional Co-ordinator Congress of South African Writers (COSAW). He has done book illustrations for a number of publications and in 1993 he was a contributing poet and member of the organising committee of Poetry for Peace. He has been a member of a number of Arts Organisations. At present he works as a consultant in training and community development. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in KZN and abroad.
