Riemvasmaak (pronounced ‘rim fus maack’) means ‘tighten the strap’ or ‘tied with straps'. Riemvasmaak is a rural community and settlement situated within the Kai !Garib Local Municipality (which falls under the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality) in the Northern Cape Province.

The area has hot springs and canyons, which means rugged 4x4 trails and hiking which provide a sustainable income for the community. This ecotourism destination is a must for the adventurous. While having some sort of relaxation and pampering afterwards in the natural Hot Springs set within a dramatic volcanic landscape. This is now managed by the local community. It is a self-catering, wilderness destination focused on nature, rather than just a commercial luxury spa!
