In 1988, Dulcie September, the African National Congress (ANC) representative in France, Luxembourg and Switzerland was assassinated in Paris. She was shot five times in the back by an assassin just after collecting her mail and opening the ANC Paris office in 28, Rue des Petites-Ecuries
