The Centre for Curating the Archive, invites you to A House in Harrington Street, by Nicholas Eppel.
Eppel’s debut solo exhibition reflects three years in the life and household of long-time Harrington Street resident, Elizabeth Barrett, and stand as a testimony to community living against the rapid gentrification of the inner city.
Mrs Barrett recently made headlines by saving 14 children from her burning house, which now stands in ruins.
The exhibition consists of 30 photographs - still lives, portraits and intimate moments of the household prior to the fire - and is to be held at the Cape Town School of Photography - which overlooks Harrington Street.
