This Day in History: 4 June 1986
On 4 June 1986, two African National Congress members, Sipho Dlamini and Busi Majola were shot dead in a house near Mbabane in Swaziland. They had both formerly been students at the Swaziland University and were Mbabane hospital employees. It was reported that a well informed policeman from Swaziland told the South African Press Agency that the incident “had all the singes of the military precision of a well planned pre-emptive strike by an outside group.”The South African Defence Force spokesman did not comment, claiming that he did not want to create tension between South Africa and Swaziland.
According to City Press the same incident occurred in the suburb of Dalriach near Mbabane. The details were all the same except the date, which they mentioned as Tuesday, which is the 2 of June 1986.
