Supreme Court declares Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta winner of the Kenyan presidential election Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta is the fourth and current president of Kenya. Kenyatta defeated Raila Odinga in the hotly contested 2013 Kenyan elections and was appointed president. Kenyatta is the son of Kenya’s first president Jomo Kenyatta. Kenyatta’s Jubilee Alliance was formed when he formed a coalition with other Kenyan political parties. The Alliance proved to be stronger than Odinga’s Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD). Odinga expressed discontent with the results of the elections and filed a petition which was rejected by the Supreme Court.
