Shashi Naidoo was born in Port Elisabeth[i] on 4 November 1980. She is South African actress, television personality and model.[ii] Shashi co-hosted the magazine show 20Something, as well as the MTV VJ Search.[iii] Her breakthrough acting role was the role of Linda McGinty who was Ziggy’s girlfriend on the soap opera Backstage. Shashi also had a minor role in another soap opera Generations, and another limited series called Society in 2007. She took on the role of Sureshni Patel in Egoli in 2008.[iv] Shashi is a model and brand ambassador for numerous South African and international brands. She also featured in the 2008 FHM calendar, and was the cover girl for Cosmopolitan in September 2008, and was included in the Sports Illustrated in 2009.[v] Shashi has been the host of major awards ceremonies such as the International Mohair Summit, and has also presented awards at the South African Music Awards.[vi] She founded her own modeling agency in 2008 called, Alushi Management.[vii] Shashi was the celebrity winner of the 2009 Tropika Island of Treasure.[viii]
