The SA Agricultural Union changes its name to Agri SA

This Day in History: 6 October 1999
The SA Agricultural Union restructured and changed its name on the union's annual meeting in Rustenburg to Agri South Africa. The restructuring occurred in three substructures as follows: the Provincial Chamber to accommodate the provincial agricultural unions affiliated to Agri SA; the Commodity Chamber to accommodate commodity organisations affiliated to Agri SA; and, the Agricultural Business Chamber to accommodate approximately 90 cooperatives and agri-business associates of Agri SA.
