On 8 May 2015, President Jacob Zuma visited Russia. On 9 May 2015, he joined a number of world leaders at the Russian capital Moscow for the 70th anniversary of the end of the World War 2. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Jacob Zuma had successful bilateral discussions in Moscow. The two leaders discussed the status and implementation of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) agreements and preparations for an ITEC conference to be held in Russia later in the year.
