Orlando Pirates captain and goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa dies

On 26 October 2014, Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper and captain was shot dead by two armed men who entered the house in Vosloorus township, near Johannesburg,where he was at the time of the tragedy. Meyiwa was one of the best players of Orlando Pirates. He was also a part of Orlando Pirates squad when they won a “Double Treble” in both 2010\11 and 2011\12, taking with them two MTN8 titles, two Absa Premiership titles, the Telkom Knockout and Nedbank Cup.   Senzo Meyiwa was born on 24 September 1987 in Umlazi , Durban. His last appearance on  television screens was on 25 October playing against Ajax Cape Town in Telkom Knockout quarter-final, where Orlando Pirates won 4-1. The 27 year old Pirates goalkeeper left behind his wife and 2 children.
