Khulane Morule, the Motswako rapper is born

Khulane Morule, popularly known by his stage name ‘Khuli Chana’ was born in Mmabtho, North West province on 27 August 1982.[i] He is a Motswako rapper and songwriter.[ii] Khuli Chana has released two studio albums, namely his debut album The MotswakOriginator in 2009 and his sophomore album Lost In Time in 2012.[iii] The MotswakOriginator included hit singles such as “Tswakstikem” and “Freshne”. The album also received the Best Venacular Hip Hop Album award at the South African Traditional Music Awards.[iv] His Lost In Time album included the hit single, “Tswa Daar”[v] which received numerous awards such as the Best Collaboration award at the 2012 South African Hip Hop Awards and at the 2013 Metro FM Music Awards.[vi] Khuli Chana also featured as an actor on the South African drama series Rhythm City in 2010.[vii] He has been the opening act of many internationally renowned hip hop artists along the lines of Drake,[viii] Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar.
