The Du Preez brothers appear before Judge Faan Hanke in Bloemfontein High Court in connection with the murder of two soldiers

Two brothers, Hendrik and Petrus du Preez appeared before Judge Faan Hanke in Bloemfontein High Court in connection with the murder of two soldiers, Michael Leisanyane and Gilmore van Wyk of Tempe military base near Bloemfontein. They were also charged with theft of military ammunition and a truck at 44 Parachute Brigade. The two soldiers, Leisanyane and van Wyk, were transporting ammunition from De Brug to Ladybrand. Hendrik du Preez was found guilty in July 2001, with another accused, Marius Swanepoel, but Petrus du Preez was acquitted
