Makgabo Rufus Maruma, world respected Tourism, Environmental and Waste Management expert and founder of Bohlweki Environmental (Pty) Ltd as well as member/chair of numerous environmental boards, was born in Pietersburg (now Polokwane). Maruma served as chairman and director in many companies such as Enviroserv Holdings, Stewart Scott International, Bohlweki Environmental, Amafaun Faun, Pan African Shop Fitters, Group Five Limited, Geo Scott and Bakwena Concession Company. He received the Manager's Award from Eskom in 1994 for Outstanding Performance in Environmental Management.
