Alphaeus Hamilton Zulu, Anglican bishop of Zululand and Swaziland was born in Nquthu, Natal. He was the only son of Johannes and Miriam Kolo Zulu and was a member of the Zulu Royal Dynasty. In the early 1960s he was elected president of the World Council of Churches (WCC). Zulu died in Ulundi, KwaZulu on 29 February 1988.
