Anglo-Boer War 2: President Steyn takes General Snyman to task for a cattle raid against Chief Montshiwa in which 203 head of cattle and 1 570 sheep and goats have been taken, admonishing him that it was not advisable to alienate the local people for the sake of a small herd of livestock.
