Jeremiah W Dunjwa was born in Cape Town. An organiser of the 1919 passive resistance campaign against passes in the Transvaal, secretary of the Transvaal African National Congress (ANC) and, in the early 1920s, a secretary-general of the African National Congress. He attended Healdtown around the turn of the century. He was an interpreter in the Cape Supreme Court, a teacher at Klipspruit government school, and Xhosa editor of Abantu-Batho. He died around 1935.
