The final report of the Le Grange Commission, dealing with the University Christian Movement (UCM), defunct since 1972, was submitted to Parliament. The Commission's findings was that the UCM, as a multi-racial body, had engaged in dangerous activities aimed at propagating violent resolutions, especially with regard to its close ties with the South African Students Organisation (SASO), which was seen in government spheres as a radical organisation, aimed at opposing government policies in higher education.
