Provisional protection of a monument- Dockhouse No. 1 and No. 2, off Portswood Road, Portswood Ridge, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town, states that: "The historical buildings and structures in the Cape Town Harbour area, known as the New Breakwater Prison, Ulundi, Dock House, Dock House Annex, The moorings No. 1, The Moorings No. 2 and 3, The Moorings No. 5 and 6 and 10. The Cell Block and Treadmill, remains part of the old Convict Station. The Entrance and Boundary Wall are adjacent to the Moorings Complex, situated in Portswood and Quarry Roads, as well as the Wall and Tunnel on Portswood Ridge."
