A Dialogue in Partnership with Kaya FM - MyConstitution Exhibition

Constitution Hill Exhibition

South Africa’s Constitution - admired and respected around the world for its pioneering approach to human rights - is the symbol of a remarkable negotiated transition, one that turned a country under apartheid into a modern and peaceful democracy. The Constitution is based on the principle of separation of powers and articulates the values on which the new South Africa has been founded. As such, the Constitution serves as an indispensable basis for democratic governance, national unity, continued freedom and prosperity. Just as in any other nation, it is of critical importance to constantly remind leaders and citizens of the country’s constitutional achievements and to not allow anyone to undermine or threaten any of its values, objectives or democratic provisions.
The Holding Lekgotla  #Constitution20 seeks to promote dialogue between civil society, policy makers and other stakeholders with a view to:

  • Strengthen the rule of law
  • Promote the spirit of a participatory democracy
  • Enhance responsible leadership and political accountability
  • Contribute to mutual understanding and social stability
