We are sure you’ve heard the hype around the very first Cape Town Book Sale, and we are here to tell you that you have a right to be excited. From Friday, 16 to Sunday, 18 June 2017 the V&A Waterfront will become the centre of the literary scene in Cape Town, when the biggest bookstores in the city meet under one roof in the name of bargain reads.
Now this is a big promise, but the organisers have made it anyway; these books will be sold at the lowest prices than anywhere else in the Mother City. Reading is one of the most rewarding endeavors (in my opinion), so why not head down to the temporary readers paradise and grab yourself some quality reading material to get you through the cold winter evenings. Picture this - you sitting in a comfy chair with a fire burning in the fire place, a cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/whiskey (we don’t judge) in one hand and a life-changing story in the other, a story so captivating that you simply cannot put it down. There’s really only one place to create that fantasy for a fair price, and that’s at the Cape Town Book Sale.
The sale will span all genres; autobiographies and kiddies books, cook books to gardening manuals, novels, sudoku, travel guides and timeless classics. As the sale is in Cape Town, there will also be a brilliant selection of local authors and books in various languages too. Just in case you were wondering, the names of the participating book shops are as follows: Bargain Books, Wordsworth Books, Caxton Books, Wilstan Books, Hargraves Books, Books 24/7, The Aquarium, BookButterfly, Missing Link Educational Books and New Africa Books.
