Short description
The 2027 African Critical Inquiry Programme Workshop, African Pedagogies of Restitution: Return, Repair, Rehumanisation, will be hosted at the Iyatsiba Lab of the Centre for Humanities Research in Cape Town in March 2027. Proposed by Koni Benson, Aidan Erasmus, Robyn Humphreys, Asher Gamedze and Bianca van Laun of UWC’s Department of Historical Studies, the workshop brings scholars and practitioners together to examine restitution as a pedagogical practice - return, repair and rehumanisation - in the context of public culture and public scholarship in post-apartheid South Africa.
