Winthrop Building, 8 Durban Road, Wynberg

The U-plan structure with a thatched hip Roof dates from 1830 and is one of the oldest Houses in the Historical Centre of Wynberg. It originally served as a Military Mess but came into the possession of the Grossouw family from 1921-1985. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 9 December 1988.
