Wave Crest, 181 Main Road, Kalk Bay

The Residence was Built on a Site upon which two of the earliest Cottages in Kalk Bay already stood, the first having been erected in 1846. Instead of Demolishing these structures, the design combined the two into the new plan. The Building underwent refurbishing in a Victorian style in about 1890, while a second floor and a verandah were added subsequently. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 15 October 1982.
