Inlet on the Coast of the Indian Ocean, South-West of Mossel Bay. Old name for Vleesbaai. It was given its name in Dutch form, 'Vleeschbaai', by Paulus van Caerden. Portuguese for 'bay of cows', thus named after the cows the Portuguese Mariners saw grazing there, and which in turn exchanged with the Khoi people, to obtain fresh milk and meat!
