Allemansfontein is a farm in Blue Crane Route Local Municipality, Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Eastern Cape.
Former name of the Farm- Almondsfontein, given by Colonel Robert Jacon Gordon, who was the Commander of the Garrison at the Cape. In honour of Professor J Allemand, of the University of Leiden (the oldest University in the Netherlands.) Who was one of the authors of the: 'Nieuweste en Beknopte Beschrijving van de Kaap der Goede Hoop, 1778.' To whom Gordon supplied information when he and Professor Allemand, was editing Supplemantary Volume 5 of Count Buffon's; Histoire Naturelle which was published in Amsterdam in 1775.
