The current South African national cricket team, The Proteas, is one of the most successful national teams in the country and the world. Their record in test cricket is quite outstanding for such a young team. They are currently ranked number one in the world in both ODI and Test cricket. In 2009 they made history when they became the first ever South African team to win an away test cricket series in Australia. The year proved to be a successful one for the Proteas, being undefeated in 10 Test matches.
