Déguy Alain Didier Zokora is an Ivorian footballer born in Abidjan on 14 December 1980. He started his career in his home country’s team Académie MimoSifcom. His younger brother, Armando was also a budding footballer. Unfortunately, Armando died in a drowning accident. Zokora’s first team abroad was Belgian side, Racing Genk. He later moved to Spanish side Sevilla FC, before moving to Turkish side, Trabzonspor. He has been part of the Ivorian national team for the past twelve years. Zokora is therefore part of the Ivorian team reputed to be hugely talented and yet has been eluded by any major trophy in the last decade. He was in the team in both the 2006 and 2010 world cups and is in line to make his third appearance in World Cup finals in Brazil in 2014.
