Health officials launch an intensive campaign to find the origins of an outbreak of Ebola fever in Uganda.

Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever (EHF) is a serious and aggressive disease characterised by severe flu-like symptoms, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, haemorrhaging and possibly coma. The disease got its name from the Ebola River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where it was first found. On 18 October 2000 Scientists launched a campaign to find the origins of the disease in Uganda. Uganda was one of the four countries ravaged by the disease in the early 2000’s. As recently as 2012, thirteen people were reported dead from Ebola.
