Dipuo Peters is born

Premier of Northern Cape Province and member of the National Executive Committee of the ANC Women's League, Elizabeth Dipuo Peters, was born in the Kimberley Diamond Fields region. She was elected to the National Assembly in 1994 and appointed to her current position by President Thabo Mbeki after the 2004 general election.
