Buthelezi boycotts first session of CODESA

Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi, leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), announced his intention not to attend the first session of CODESA. He considered the decision taken by the Steering Committee of CODESA not to invite Zulu King Goodwill Zwelethini to lead a separate IFP delegation, as amounting to an "insult".
