Andrew Charles Hudson, South African cricketer is born

Andrew Charles Hudson was born on 17 March 1965 in Eshowe, Natal (KwaZulu Natal). He distinguished himself as a cricketer by playing in 35 tests and 89 One Day International cricket matches for South Africa in the 1990s.  Hudson was a right-handed batsman and was most noted for his calm demeanour under pressure.  Up until 2003, he was the only South African batsmen to score a century on his opening debut.  He scored this century during the 1991-1992 season against the West Indies in Barbados. Hudson retired from professional cricket in 2001, and now works as a financial consultant.
