This pamphlet clearly describes, with some background, on the political state of the country before the birth of APDUSA. The NEUM called on the leadership of the Movement to a conference in which the national situation was discussed, and how it had been a plan to gather the many existing organisations into a federal body. Conference then decided to sponsor the formation of political organisation on a nation-wide scale, and thus the beginning of the African Peoples Democratic Union of Southern Africa (APDUSA).
