Mkhuseli Joseph Kettledas joined the Pan African Congress (PAC) in 1961. He was arrested on 8 April 1963 for sabotage and sentenced to ten years in prison. He served his sentence on Robben Island and was released on 7 November 1973. Kettledas was rearrested in 1975 and served an additional two year sentence until he was released in 1977. On 22 January 2017 he passed away.
