Akasiapark, Residential Area for Civil Servants

Residential area for civil servants, members of parliament and railway officials, laid out on part of Wingfield, a former Naval Aerodome named Sassar from 1947 to 1 December 1959, then Acacia Park after the Port Jackson Willows growing there. 

The SA Navy is to relocate its sprawling technical training school, SAS Wingfield, along with some depots from a run down World War II-era site near Goodwood-Cape Town
