Ngwenduna Vanda, a member of the African National Congress (ANC) and uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) was from Peddie, Eastern Cape. He was killed in combat with the Transkeian forces.
His body was exhumed from the Transkei where he had been given a pauper's burial by the then Transkei authorities.His family finally located the site of his burial and interred his remainsn the Nghushwa Municipality cemetery, close to his parents. Vanda is survived by two sisters and a younger brother who still live in Peddie.
