Mrs. N. S. Pillay (Lachimi), sister-in-law of Veerammal Naidoo, went with Veerammal and her mother to Natal during the third phase of the Satyagraha. She was also part of the 1913 Indian miners’ strike . She served a sentence of three months with hard labour while taking care of an infant in Pietermaritzburg prison.
