Sentenced at Grahamstown on 17 August 1978 under the "Sabotage Act" and common law (public violence, murder, arson) to 22 years imprisonment. He was charged with burning two cars and two houses, "inspiring to commit arson" and involvement in a petrol bomb attack in which two people were killed.
