Milner Langa Kabane was born in the Transkei. Kabane studied at Healdtown.  He was one of the first students to enroll at the University of Fort Hare, earning a bachelor's degree in 1925. He was a president of the Orange Free State Teachers' Association and a member of the Africans' Claims committee and the Orange Free State All African Convention (AAC) executive committee. He died in Bloemfontein in 1945.
