Mr Michael Shivute was detained on 16th June 1969 under section 6(1) of the Terrorism Act and was held at the Ondagwa police cells in South West Africa where he allegedly committed suicide less than 24 hours later.An inquest returned a verdict of suicide but gave no further details.
