Lawrence Ndzanga

Mr Lawrence Ndzanga,aged 53, a former secretary of the Railway Workers Union and a national executive committee member of the South African Congress Trade Unions (SACTU),was detained under section 6(1) of the Terrorism Act on 18 November 1976. His wife Rita and twenty others were detained at the same time.He was held at the Johannesburg Fort. He was charged in terms of the Terrorism Act on 28 December and remanded in detention.

Ernest Mamashila

Mr Ernest Mamashila, aged 35,was detained on 16 November 1976 under section 6(1) of the Terrorism Act.His wife was told that he was being held at the Brakpan police cells. A police statement said that on 19 November he hanged himself in the Balfour police cell. A post-mortem was held in Springs.

Pongoloshe Hoye

Mr Pongoloshe Hoye died in detention in the Transkei on 9th May 1965.He was being held under Transkei Proclamation R400.He had been detained for less than 24 hours and the official cause of death was given as natural cause.
