Henry Olonga, Zimbabwean Cricketer is born

Henry Khaaba Olonga was born in Lusaka, Zambia, to a Kenyan father and a Zimbabwean mother. The family moved back to his father’s homeland, Kenya, before settling in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He is one of five siblings; one of his brothers, Victor Olonga is a rugby player. Ologa made his Test debut in 1995, becoming the youngest person and first black person to play for Zimbabwe. Olonga’s professional career ended in 2003 after he and a team mate wore black bands in protest of President Robert Mugabe’s policies. He was later charged with treason which led to him going into exile. He now lives in the UK where he is a sports commentator and a singer.
