At Botha, SA artist, is born.

At Botha is one of South Africa’s most renowned artists. He was born in Kroonstad on 23 December 1949. Botha studied drama at the Potchefstroomse Universiteit vir Christelike Hoër Onderwys and has performed in a few productions. His first love is painting; he admitted to have loved the craft since childhood. Botha’s paintings are produced using various mediums and paints mostly landscapes, seascapes and clowns. He has stated that he is fascinated by mountains and clouds. Botha has never received any formal training and has had to rely purely on his love for art.
