This group of double-storey semi-detached houses with prominent Victorian and Georgian features was erected shortly after the turn of the 20th Century. It consists of five dwellings in Donkin Street, facing on to the Donkin Reserve, one at 14 Constitution Street and two at 8 and 10 Whitlock Street. The Donkin Street complex forms a unique row of terrace houses, and is one of the city's most prominent landmarks. The Donkin Heritage Trail links 51 places of Historical interest in the old Hill Area of central Port Elizabeth.
